Pope Francis Daily Reflections:

Monday: To remember what God has done and continues to do for me, for us, to remember the road we have travelled: this is what opens our hearts to hope for the future. May we learn to remember everything that God has done in our lives.

Tuesday: The joy of evangelising always arises from grateful remembrance “it is a grace which we constantly need to implore. The apostles never forget the moment when Jesus touched their hearts. The believer is essentially “one who remembers.”

Wednesday: God always saves the best for us. But he asks us to let ourselves be surprised by his love to accept his surprises.

Thursday: True joy does not come from things or from possessing, no! It is a born from the encounter, from the relationship with others: it is born from feeling accepted, understood, and loved, and from accepting, from understanding, and from loving: and this is not because of a passing fancy but because the other is a person.

Friday: Joy is born from the gratuitousness of an encounter! It is hearing someone say, but not necessarily with words, “you are important to me.” This is beautiful…And it is These very words that God makes us understand. In calling you, God says to you “you are important to me. I love you, I am counting on you.”

Sunday is Father's Day and we pray for all our dad's living and those who have passed away. I found this poem and i think it sums up what a loving Dad is: Strength of a Mountain God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it ... Dad

I am looking for Volunteers to move the power-points on during the Sunday Masses, Vigil 4pm, 9.30am & 11am. It is very easy to operate, if we get enough volunteers for each Mass we would put a wee rota together. It would take a wee bit of pressure off me.

If you wish to sign up for Gift Aid. It is a great way to help the parish financially, costing you absolutely nothing. If you wish to sign up contact myself or Doreen Lee and we will give you the form and hand it back as you can and we can get it organised. As I said it costs you nothing, but helps the parish so much.

We were given a relic of Carlo Acutis. I am grateful to the family who presented it to us. It is hanging in the side chapel below his icon and statue. I will be blessing the icon and statue in the near future. There are Novenas now available in the Side Chapel.
