September
We Are Family
Heritage of Faith
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Monday 20th September : Look upon your brother’s sorrow-I think of the children: look upon these…look at the sorrow of your brother, stay your hand and do not add to it, rebuild the harmony that has been shattered; and all this achieved not by conflict but by encounter! May the noise of weapons cease!
Tuesday 21st September : We Christians are called to confront the poverty of our brothers and sisters, to touch it, make it our own, and the practical steps to alleviate it.
Wednesday 22nd September: Do you listen to your grandparents? Do you open your hearts to the memories that your grandparents pass on. Grandparents are like the wisdom of the family; they are the wisdom of the people. And a people that does not listen to grand parents is the one that dies! Listen to your grandparents.
Thursday 23rd September: A grand father is a father twice over and a grandmother is a mother twice over.
Friday 24th September: The elderly pass on history, doctrine, faith, and they leave them to us as an inheritance. They are like a fine vintage wine; that is, they have within themselves the power to give us this noble inheritance.
Saturday 25th September: Availability, the availability of a father or a mother to their children, is so important: “spend time” with your children, play with your children.
